German students at the SUPŠS Kamenický Šenov for an exchange study stay.

On January 29, 2012 a group of ten German students from our partner school Berufskoleg, Rheinbach came again to our school in the Framework of the European programme of Leonardo. They are going to spend here 3 weeks. The group is headed by their teacher Mrs. Sabina Ramershoven, who will be successively replaced in the function by other two German colleagues. Under professional leading of the SUPŠS teachers the German students first learn making models and moulds for glass melting. During training they are supported also by SUPŠS students. Such mutual help and cooperation of teachers and students of both the schools create very good working and personal relations.

The program of German students includes a.o. also creating of vitrography and training of drawing of still-life scenes and portraits. They will also get an information on some glassmaking technological processes. A part of their program is formed also by visits of glassworks and studios as e.g. Preciosa company, Jílek Brothers´ Glassworks, TGK and Ajeto. There have been included sightseeing of glass museums and Prague as well as of some other places of interest in the north of Bohemia. The German students have been also invited to visit the traditional school ball by their Czech school friends. Another interesting event has been a bowling tournament prepared for the German friends, too.

The cooperation between both the professional schools has been given by the partner agreement in 1996, in the framework of which also Czech students have the opportunity to participate periodically in the exchange study stays in Germany. This cooperation has been very positively appreciated by both the parties. A tight cooperation exists also between the municipalities of Kamenický Šenov and Rheinbach, among their institutions, associations and clubs. Representatives and citizens of both the cities participate in numerous common events every year.
